  H.E. Dr. Nizar bin Obaid Madani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs met His Excellency Mr. Kenichiro Sasae, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs at the guesthouse of Japanese Foreign Ministry (Iikura House) in Tokyo.

 

  The official talk was held, in which the two sides discussed a number of topics related to the two friendly countries. Dr. Madani conveyed to H.E. Mr. Sasae the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his wishes to the friendly people of Japan continued progress and prosperity, and the condolences of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the passing away of H.E. Mr. Takeo Nishioka, President of the House of Councillors as well as victims of the March 11 earthquake that devastated cities of northeast Japan. He also received condolences on the death of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz.

 

  During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop relations between the two countries at all levels and to continue to hold regular meetings that was specified in the memorandum of understanding issued in 2006. The two sides talked about ways to further develop the strategic political relations between the two countries. At the end of the meeting both sides exchanged memorial gifts.
