Security appoints spokesmen for each province

The Department of Public Security today announced the appointment of
official spokesmen for police departments across
the Kingdom. Col. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Maro'ol,
director of public affairs at the Department of
Public Security, said today that the Director of
the Public Security General Saeed bin Abdullah
Al-Qahtani has approved the names of official
police spokesmen in each of the Kingdom’s
thirteen provinces.
The spokesmen are as follows:
Makkah Province -- Col. Salih bin Fayez Al-Ghamdi
Madinah Province -- Col. Mohsin bin Salih Al-Raddadi
Tabuk Province -- Col. Salih bin Hamid Al-Harbi
Eastern Province -- Col. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Qahtani
Asir Province -- Col. Abdullah bin Ayedh Al-Garni
Al-Jouf Province -- Col. Daman bin Wanees Al-Daraan
Northern Borders -- Lieutenant Col. Bandar bin
Atallah Al-Eida
Hail Province -- Major Saad bin Abdullah Al-Muhareb
Riyahd Province -- Major Sami bin Mohammed Al-Shiwarekh
Qassim -- Major Fahd bin Ali Al-Habadan
Jizan Province -- Captain Ahmed bin Jaber Al-Wadani

to introduced new grade of gasoline

Beginning January 1, 2007, gasoline stations across Saudi Arabia will
begin selling a new grade of gasoline, Saudi
Aramco announced last week. Currently, only
95-octane gasoline is sold in Saudi Arabia. The
new grade will be 91-octane gasoline, which is
suitable for a majority of the vehicles in the
Kingdom.
Based on the Royal Order issued on April 30, the price of Premium 91 will
be 60 halalas per liter [$ 0.60 per gallon] and
the price for Premium 95 will be 75 halalas per
liter [$ 0.75 per gallon]. To protect consumers,
Saudi Aramco announced that it will add a
distinguishing colors to each type of gasoline.
New gas field discovered

Saudi Aramco has discovered a new gas field in the Eastern Province,
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali
Al-Naimi announced today. Zamlah-1 is expected
to yield 1,400 barrels a day of condensates,
Al-Naimi said. Zamlah-1, located about 30 miles
south of Al-Ghawar oil field and 150 miles
southeast of Riyadh, is expected to produce 20
million cubic feet of gas per day.
Iraqi Prime
Minister meets with Saudi businessmen

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Kamel Al-Maliki and his accompanying delegation
met today with Saudi businessmen and investors
at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Maliki
stressed that Saudi Arabia and Iraq are partners
in planning the present and the future and
commended Saudi Arabia for its role in assisting
Iraq in regaining its security and stability.
Al-Maliki invited the Saudi business community
to invest in Iraq and seek contracts in
infrastructure projects, such as the energy and
agriculture sectors.
Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Maliki was on an official visit to the Kingdom
where he met with Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown
Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz.
